Probably the most important thing regarding how to make money from home is learning how to stay away from online scams. We all know that there are so many options out there. Some are good. Some are bad. What are some easy ways to tell the difference?
Don’t pay up front…
One very simple rule to always follow. Be careful if their offer sounds too good to be true. If they require some kind of payment up front, then there is no real way to know exactly what you’re buying into. You worked hard for your money, don’t let somebody just take it from you.
Look for offers that include a free trial membership. They let you sign up for free with no payment obligation. This will give you a chance to take them for a test drive. Most companies that offer trial memberships know that their products will sell themselves better than a fancy slogan or pushy salesman.
Protect your online identity…
How do I know who to trust?
When you plan to adventure off into the world wide web it can be a scary place. I would recommend creating a separate email address to use, instead of getting your personal email cluttered with all the extra traffic. There are several free email services out there to choose from.
Don’t use your personal bank credit/debit card.
PayPal is an excellent alternative. They have been around for several years and are highly used across the globe. They also offer a very high level of fraud protection to keep your personal account details hidden. This is a free service and I’ve been using them for over 10 years without ever having a problem.
Use the internet to your advantage.
There are private and government websites out there dedicated to logging and shutting down fraudulent activity. If something doesn’t seem right about an offer or deal, don’t jump the gun. Take a few minutes and check out the company. I recommend using the Federal Trade Commission.
Do your own research to learn how to stay away from online scams.
Isn’t that why I came here? I’m here to help guide you through making smarter decisions about how you conduct business online. If somebody walked up to you on the street and promised to paint your house but only if you paid them right now.. would you hand over the money? I would hope not. We all try to make educated decisions about what we’re buying or where are money and time will be invested. Using a website like mine is a tool for you to use. You first gather some information, establish some communication with a knowledgeable source(like me), then make an informed decision.
Hope this helps you understand how to stay away from online scams,
